Background: Green tea has been used by people in China and Japan for centuries. It has recently gained popularity as a beverage that helps with weight loss and has other good health properties.
Recently, research has shown that green tea can help to lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure, making it a weapon against heart disease. Green tea has also been shown to prevent some types of cancer. Studies from Japan have also shown that it has benefits for dental health.
Green tea also has some tonic properties. It simply helps to improve the immune system and promotes overall good health. It has been used in Chinese medicine for many purpose since ancient times, but modern research has concurred with its health benefits.
What makes green tea different from black tea is the way that it's processed. They both come from the same plant. However, black tea is fermented and green tea is prepared by steaming the leaf instead. This difference helps to keep the good chemicals in the tea intact.
